Dr. Leroy H. Izzard III is a native of Hinesville, Georgia. He currently lives in Kernersville North Carolina with his wife and five of his seven children along with five grandchildren.
Dr. Izzard serves as the Pastor of the Southeast Church of Christ (Winston -Salem NC), Clinical Chaplain Resident with the Department of Veterans Affairs (Salisbury VAMC), and part-time chaplain with the North Carolina State Veterans Home (NCSVH Salisbury). Dr. Izzard has served in ministry for the past 17 years which includes chaplain positions with Humana Home Hospice (Sanford, NC), Kindred Home Healthcare and Hospice (Sanford, NC) and Trinity Glen Skilled Nursing Facility (Winston-Salem, NC).
Dr. Izzard earned a Bachelor of Science in Religion from Liberty University, a Master of Divinity, Master of Theology, and Master of Religious Education from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary, a Doctor of Ministry (Chaplaincy) from Rawlings Divinity School (LU), and a Doctor of Philosophy (Bible Exposition) from Liberty University. Dr. Izzard also earned graduate certificates in Biblical and Theological Studies, Chaplaincy, and Bible Exposition.
Dr. Izzard served 22 years of active duty in the United States Army with the 1st Special Operations Command (ABN), 160th Special Operations Group (ABN), and 5th Special Forces Group (ABN). Dr. Izzard served honorably and courageously in six combat tours (Panama, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Iraq, and Afghanistan) earning two Bronze Star Medals, two Meritorious Service Medals and eleven Army Commendation Medals.
